We’d be sad to see you leave, but before you hit that delete button, here are a few things to keep in mind:
- Bye-bye data: Deleting your account will erase all your data from our servers. Make sure you’ve backed up anything you might need later.
- No backsies: Once your account is deleted, it’s gone for good and neither you nor us can get it back! We like to think we’re pretty good at cleaning ✨🧹.

Ready to part ways? Follow these simple steps to delete your account:
- Log in: First things first, log into the account you want to delete. This ensures it’s really you making the request (no impersonations here!).
- Head to Settings: Click on your profile at the bottom right corner of the app. Then, click on the “Settings” button (the cog).
- Find the Magic Button: Scroll through your settings until you find the “Request Account Deletion” button.
- Double-check: You’ll get a screen asking you to confirm your decision. Take a moment to make sure you backed up the data you want to keep!
- Final countdown: Click that final confirmation button. Positive? I don’t know. You don’t know if you’re positive? I don’t know what positive mean. It means you’re sure. Yes. Yes, what? Yes I’m sure. Click!
- All done!
That’s all you need to do on your end! Now, it’s our turn. Our support department will now receive and process your account deletion request. Once all checks have been performed (say for example, we need to keep certain data due to security reasons or due to a pending legal request from a government entity), and all is green, we will perform the deletion and purge your data from our systems.
When your account is deleted, you will receive a confirmation message through your email notifying you that your request has been processed and completed.
And that’s it! Your account has been successfully deleted. We’re sad to see you go, but we respect your decision and wish you all the best on your digital journey. If you ever decide to come back, we’ll welcome you with open arms!

How long does it take for my account deletion request to be processed and carried out?
We take the handling of your data very seriously. As such, the speed at which account deletion requests are handled depends heavily on the complexity of your particular case. In the most simple cases, it may take less than 24 hours, and in more complex situations, up to 30 days, extendable to 90 days for very tricky accounts.
If you haven’t received a deletion confirmation during this period, feel free to reach out to us using the information you have available on our Contact page, and we will get back to you with the status of your request and if it’s encountering any issues or requires additional time to be processed.
I don’t have access to my account anymore
In the unlikely event that you have lost access to your account, and are therefore unable to log into it and access to the Request Account Deletion feature, no worries! We’ve got you covered again.
You can simply send us a message using the information in our Contact page, and we will respond to you with instructions to confirm your identity. Once your identity has been verified, and your wish for your account to be deleted is confirmed, we will go through the procedure as described above.
What kind of data cannot be deleted even if I request it?
Even if requested, some types of data cannot be deleted, or at least may not be deleted for a certain period. This may include but isn’t limited to data that:
- is under an official request from a recognised governing organisation under an investigation that requires Beerhands’ cooperation;
- is under scrutiny due to fraudulent use of our platform according to our Terms of Use which may be used for potential disciplinary action and/or legal proceedings;
- falls under any legal requirement upon which Beerhands must comply that would require their retainment.
Upon requesting your account deletion, you will be notified if your data falls under the aforementioned list, and further instructions on what you can do or can be done will be attached.
What is anonymisation?
In some situations, some of your data may not be completely deleted, but instead be anonymised. This describe the process through which your personal information and any identifiers are removed from the data, but the content itself is preserved.
Anonymisation is the removal or alteration of personal identifiers from data to ensure that the individual behind the data cannot be identified. In the context of deleting an account, anonymisation might involve replacing personal information, such as comments or posts, with placeholder text like “[Comment deleted]” while leaving the structure or presence of the content intact. This helps maintain the integrity of data within a platform (e.g., keeping conversations or histories intact) while protecting the privacy of the individual by ensuring their information cannot be traced back to them.
